Blue Prose has six years’ experience taking shorts, features, and TV series through all phases of the creative process, and is prepared to help you tell your story by assisting in the following areas: 

Pre-Production

  • Screenwriting and script polishing: We specialize in surrealism, magic realism, and psychological horror, but have also taken on projects ranging from documentary series to period pieces. Whatever the needs of your particular narrative, we are here to help you tell it in the most compelling way possible. 

  • Television-specific: In addition to our expertise in episodic scriptwriting, Blue Prose has a background in crafting show mini-bibles, pitch sheets, one-pagers, and outlines for serial narratives. We can also assist you in tailoring existing documents to better attract your target audience. 

  • Research: With access to some of the best historical resources in New York city, (including the restricted libraries of Columbia University and its affiliates) Blue Prose can unearth the information you need--whether you're working on a narrative or a documentary. 

  • Location scouting: We specialize in finding the most unusual and visually striking locations in New Mexico. Whether your story calls for a colonial monastery or an abandoned adobe, we know just the place. 

Production

  • Equipment rental: Blue Prose has a selection of audio recording and image stabilization equipment available for rental by the day or week. Please contact us for more information about our equipment closet and pricing.

  • Direction: Our in-house director, Siena Bergt, specializes in tailored communication with talent to produce the best performances possible. She has worked with everyone from non-actors to theater performers to method-trained professionals, and specializes in creating a safe environment for improvisation and onscreen honesty.

Post-Production

  • Picture editing: With experience on projects ranging from documentary shorts to video essays to nonlinear narrative features, we are prepared to draw the most engaging product possible out of your existing footage. We utilize Avid's Media Composer software for our post-production services, and are comfortable delivering in a wide variety of formats and resolutions.

  • ADR: If any of your on-location audio is unusable, we are prepared with both the equipment and the experience to re-record dialogue as necessary.
